Why Use Xinyu Polyester Staple Fiber Needle Punched Non Woven Geotextile Fabric?
Our Polyester Staple Fiber Needle Punched Non Woven Geotextile Fabric performs better than woven products in the most critical areas of filtration and drainage. Its non-aligned fiber network is more robust and stable at a lower price than woven products. Here’s why it’s better:
- High Strength: Excellent tensile and puncture resistance. Supports soil under heavy loads.
- Durable Toughness: Withstands UV rays, acids, alkalis, and biodegradation. Remains durable for 10+ years.
- Superior Filtration: Porous design drains water while filtering soil. Keeps projects stable.
- Cost-Effective: Low production cost, easy to install. Saves time and money.
- Multi-Purpose: Utilized for separation, stabilization, and drainage. Fulfills any site requirement.

Polyester Staple Fiber Needle-punched Non Woven Geotextile Fabric Applied in a Brazilian Highway Construction Project
Project Name : Strengthening of Coastal Highway
Location: Rio, Brazil
Customer Problem
A north-eastern Brazil coastal highway had a difficult challenge facing it: weak, waterlogged floodplain soils. The ground was waterlogged and poor, and unstabilized, the highway would sink or break under load. The contractor required a solution that could stabilize the subgrade and drain the water. The aggressive, salty sea-side environment also required anti-corrosive remedies. Xinyu Geosynthetics required to devise an effective, resilient solution.
Our Solution
A Brazilian contractor contacted us in June 2022 by reaching out to us through our company website. They were browsing our project news and were interested in our polyester staple fiber needle-punched, non woven geotextile fabric. It was a wonderful experience talking to them, and their highway was made up of 15,000 square meters of soft ground. They needed a 500 g/m² geotextile as a reinforcement buffer layer on the soft ground. We recommended incorporating geomembrane to control seepage and drainage material for water flow. We quoted them and performed sample and report testing. They accepted the quality and placed orders.
Xinyu’s 100% polyester staple fiber 3D-structured needle-punched geotextile is permeable, resistant to acid-, alkali-, and aging, suitable for the Brazilian coast. Incorporation of geomembrane and drainage nets rendered it already suitable to overcome this problem of road construction.
Products Applied In This Project
Product | Specification | Quantity |
LLDPE Geomembrane | 0.8mm Thickness | 14,300 m² |
LLDPE Geomembrane | 1.2mm Thickness | 7,800 m² |
PET Staple Fiber Nonwoven Geotextile Fabric | 120m/Roll | 26,000 ㎡ |
Implementation Process
- Site Preparation: Roadbed was graded and leveled and loose soil and debris were removed. The sand was then placed over it to level the base.
- Layering Up: The 500 g/m² geotextile was pinned down with no creases. Above that was put the 1.5 mm HDPE geomembrane so that water cannot pass through. Above that was put the geocomposite drainage net, which drained the water away.
- Securing It: Nails held everything together, and rolls overlapped an endless distance. It is strength and stability wrapped up.
- Finishing: Thick sand was put over the installation and compacted. This encased the material and increased the road’s capacity to carry weights.
Results
- Stable Subgrade: Soil that was loose was stabilized through the geotextile. It did not crack or settle.
- Water Control: Drain net and geotextile allowed water to move through. Geomembrane kept seepage from happening.
- Longevity: Acid and UV resistance handled coastal exposures adequately. The road was constructed to last.
- Eco Bonus: Reduced slope and soil movement were tailored to fit local conditions.
Positive Attributes of Xinyu’s Solution
- High Strength: High tensile strength and toughness. Withstood traffic loads with ease.
- Top Drainage: Thick and porous design enabled quick draining of water—evaporated roadbed.
- Corrosion Proof: Withstood salty, corrosive environments. No chemical or UV degradation.
- Protective Layer: Protected geomembrane from damage and added strength to soil.
- Green Impact: Made the slope green and less eroded. It is a green success.
